VIDEO: Ella Eyre Unveils Her New Video

Published on

Rising British star Ella Eyre unveils her new video for the track ‘Comeback,’ the next single from her upcoming debut album, below, in a clip directed by Jon Augustavo — with some strong language and the feeling that she’s not to be messed with. Especially as the tale of romantic retribution is based on a break-up she went through herself at the age of 17. The artist, born Ella McMahon, only turned 20 on April 1.

The track will be released as a UK single on September as the follow-up to her No. 16 hit of last month, ‘If I Go.’ As we reported then, the former BRIT School student has confirmed a headline British tour that will run from October 1-22 and includes an October 10 date at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire.

Eyre has always had a flair for drama, as she told Hunger TV. “I really enjoyed doing drama at school,” she said, “and the first time I remember loving singing was when I was cast as Tallulah in ‘Bugsy Malone.’ I was about 16 and it started to occur to me that perhaps I could make a career out of performing.

“Then I went to the BRIT School and studied musical theatre, but about a year into that I decided that it didn’t allow me to be as creative as I wanted to be, and I wasn’t happy singing somebody else’s
songs. I felt like I had my own thing to say.”
