British rock frontman Graham Bonnet and his band will be filming a live CD and DVD from their performance later this month at the Frontiers Rock Festival in Trezzo sull’Adda, north-east of Milan, Italy. He promises that favourites from his time with Rainbow will be part of the show.
Last month, uDiscover reported on the widespread new activity by the former lead singer with Rainbow, Alcatrazz and other bands. On 24 April, the Graham Bonnet Band will be at the Live Music Club for the Italian concert.
“It’s been a very long time since I last released a live video, 32 years to be exact, with Alcatrazz,” says Bonnet. “Myself and the band are very excited to be filming and recording our performance at the Frontiers Rock Festival for a live album and DVD.
“The setlist will draw from my time with Rainbow, the Michael Schenker Group, Alcatrazz, Impellitteri and my solo career. I think the fans will be very happy with the selection of songs.” Bonnet’s current band line-up features guitarist Conrado Pesinato, Beth-Ami Heavenstone on bass and Mark Zonder on drums.
Bonnet features in the CD+DVD package of Rainbow’s newly-repackaged Monsters Of Rock — Live At Donington 1980 show, out on Eagle Rock Entertainment at he end of next week (22 April). Seven of his solo albums are being reissued by Hear No Evil Records, who are also repackaging his Alcatrazz catalogue, individually and in a box set. Steve Wright’s authorised biography The Story Behind The Shades will be out later this year and Bonnet is also planning a new studio album.
