Kacey Musgraves, one of the brightest stars in contemporary country music, has today (17) released a new single on iTunes. ‘Biscuits’ is the lead track from her upcoming sophomore album, which will be released internationally on Decca/Mercury, with more details to follow soon.
The new album is the follow-up to Musgraves’ widely-acclaimed debut set ‘Same Trailer, Different Park,’ which won the 2014 Grammy Award for Best Country Album and made her a national and international name.
‘Biscuits’ was written by Musgraves with Shane McAnally and Kacey’s fellow pacemaker in the new Nashville sound, Brandy Clark. This is the same team that composed several of the songs on the last album, including ‘Follow Your Arrow,’ the CMA Award-winner as Song of the Year last year. Clark gave much-praised performances earlier this month at the C2C Country to Country Festival in London, Dublin, Oslo and Stockholm.
“I’m very proud to be kickin’ things off with ‘Biscuits,’ says Musgraves. “I think it’s the perfect preview to the record we had SO much fun making. The sound of this song represents so many of the things I love!” She’s currently on the road headlining her ‘Same Tour Different Trailer’ tour across the US, with the next date in Washington on March 26, and is planning international shows.
