Record Store Day Vinyl Victory

Published on

It was another triumphant celebration for both the independent record store and the purists’ choice – the vinyl record.

In the week ending 20th April – the day after RDS day overall vinyl sales in the USA were up 280% over the previous week and up 58% over the week of Record Store Day last year, making it the most successful RSD for vinyl LP sales in its six year history.

In the UK vinyl sales went up by a staggering 133% on the day. The Udiscover team went to Rough Trade West, watched Adam Ant play live on the street and witnessed the furore for ourselves, so it must be true.
