Polish violinist, pianist and composer YANA has announced her third album, Quiet Rebellion, due February 19, 2027, via OPIA Community. She also released “Your Name Is A River,” a collaboration with Berlin-based singer-songwriter, composer and producer Tara Nome Doyle, accompanied by a video by Sam Cronenberg.

YANA wrote the song’s lyrics, an unusual step for an artist who does not typically sing. She describes the track as a statement of love in response to the hardships of the world. “It’s an anthem to the love that is the basis of everything in life,” she says. “Love is the strongest power against all hardships and damage.”
YANA had long admired Doyle’s voice and work, and wrote the song with her in mind as its vocalist. She says Doyle understood her idea for a choir repeating “by the river of your name” without needing further explanation. Doyle, who had not previously worked with another writer’s lyrics, says she improvised around YANA’s poem on her first listen to the instrumental; that recording became part of the finished track.
The video places the artists in front of a wall of screens showing a mix of abstract scenes and images from the news. They sing the chorus amid the flow of footage, echoing the album’s contrast between the quiet YANA seeks and the turmoil she sees on a phone screen. “I found myself in a kind of stupor, stuck between the delicacy and quiet I seek and the roaring, unjust world witnessed on the phone screen,” she says. “This music became my way of expressing that inner rebellion.”
On Quiet Rebellion, YANA combines piano and strings with analog synthesizers, electronic textures and rhythmic elements. OPIA Community, the label releasing the album, is a music initiative founded by composer and producer Ólafur Arnalds.
