Andrea Bocelli, one of the most celebrated singers of all time, will release Concerto: One Night In Central Park – 10th Anniversary Edition on 10 September 2021. “Central Park represents the height of my career or at least the most thrilling moment of my entire career. I realized that my dreams had been surpassed by reality. That my reality had surpassed my dreams,” said Andrea Bocelli.

“That was a memorable milestone in my career”

The unforgettable One Night In Central Park concert marked Andrea Bocelli’s global significance as a superstar and is one of the best-selling live albums in history. “That was a memorable milestone in my career,” explained Andrea Bocelli. “One of its highest and most emotionally overwhelming moments. A mega-show that took 16 months of work, as well as a brave and ambitious artistic undertaking. A concert that went on to become my first fully live album, for which every note was recorded live, without a safety net.”

Concerto: One Night In Central Park captures the poignant live album that was recorded in New York on 15 September 2011 and also features new renditions, including a new recording of O Sole Mio. The concert was a childhood dream come true, fuelled by the power of fatherly love, and dedicated to the memory of Andrea Bocelli’s father.

The all-star cast included Celine Dion, Tony Bennett, Bryn Terfel, David Foster and Chris Botti at the iconic venue with over 70,000 adoring fans. Andrea Bocelli was concerned that the performance would be cancelled due to the threatening grey clouds but with much relief and excitement the show went on.

Andrea Bocelli remembered, “Shortly before going on stage I wanted to go to my dressing room to say a few prayers, together with Filippo Sugar and the rest of those present. I also mulled over the great honor I had, to be singing together with many of my wonderful peers, right where my great friend and Maestro, Luciano Pavarotti, had performed 18 years earlier.”

Dedicated to the memory of Andrea Bocelli’s father

Andrea Bocelli recalled, “I also remember lovingly dedicating that extraordinary evening to the memory of my father, who – although he had never crossed the ocean – would continually encourage me when I was still a young artist unknown to most people, saying with prophetic lucidity: ‘You must go and sing in the United States you must go to New York. They will appreciate you there, they will perceive the quality of your voice.’

It was his dream, dictated by his fatherly love for me. With the One Night In Central Park project, that dream has come true.”

Concerto: One Night In Central Park – 10th Anniversary Edition will be released on remastered CD, Fan Edition CD / DVD, Limited Edition Fan Edition CD/DVD + Poster, 180g gold vinyl, DVD and Blu-ray on 10 September 2021 and can be pre-ordered here.
