Lady Antebellum At People’s Choice Awards

Published on

Country trio Lady Antebellum were both winners and performers at last night’s (Wednesday) People’s Choice Awards in Los Angeles. They took home the trophy for Favourite Country Group, and were also on hand to perform ‘Freestyle,’ which was the second single (after ‘Bartender’) from the group’s current, sixth studio album ‘747.’

Taylor Swift was a triple winner at the awards, being named Favourite Female Artist and Favourite Pop Artist, and winning Favourite Song with ‘Shake It Off.’ 5 Seconds Of Summer were named Favourite Breakout Artist.

Lady A’s ‘747’ album reached No. 2 on both the Billboard 200 and Top Country Albums charts, and kept their international profile high by charting in the top five in Australia, and the top 15 in both the UK and France. The band are due to start their ‘Wheels Up’ tour in Oslo on February 28, the first of four shows on the 2015 Country 2 Country Festival, where they share the bill with Kristian Bush, the Band Perry, Maddie & Tae, Thompson Square and Brantley Gilbert.

They follow this with three Australian shows in March, then comes the North American leg of the ‘Wheels Up’ tour, with Sam Hunt and another of last night’s People’s Choice winners, Hunter Hayes. This begins on May 1, with shows into early June and two more in August and September.
