Published on

Chart-topping, multi-platinum singer-songwriter Mika has announced his return with his fourth album ‘No Place In Heaven,’ to be released on June 15 via Virgin EMI.

The follow-up to 2012’s ‘The Origin of Love,’ the new set has been produced by the Grammy-nominated Gregg Wells, who was a co-producer all of Mika’s previous releases including his multi-million selling 2007 debut ‘Life In Cartoon Motion.’ Wells’ other credits include Pharrell, Adele, Katy Perry and Rufus Wainwright. The new album is already drawing comparisons with classic 1970s pop albums by such greats as Billy Joel, Todd Rundgren and Elton John.

Over the past two years, during the writing of ‘No Place In Heaven,’ Mika (whose worldwide record sales total more than 10 million) has also been focusing on his European audience. He has been a judge on ‘The X Factor’ in Italy, a coach on ‘The Voice’ in France and topped the charts in the latter country with ‘Boum Boum Boum.’

He’s also been working closely with Swatch, the global watch company, as their creative ambassador, to create some unique designs for their collections. More recently, Mika has been collaborating with the renowned Italian fashion house, Valentino, producing bespoke suits with their creative directors.

The track ‘Last Party’ from the new record will be available as an “instant grat” track to fans when they pre-order the album through iTunes. The song is an ode to Freddie Mercury, and will be accompanied by a video that has been shot by the celebrated fashion photographer Peter Lindbergh, in his first music collaboration.

As a UK fan, I am hoping there will be a lot of heavy promo for this album here. The last album should have been given so much more recognition, as it was such a great collection of songs. Stardust in particular, would have been a great single, but never got the chance. Mikas fanbase here miss him greatly, and I hope that this album will get him back in the limelight again.
