Deutsche Grammophon’s STAGE+ Confirms Livestream Program for 2025 Summer Festivals
The streaming service will highlight five key European classical music festivals on its platform this summer: Bayreuth, Salzburg, Verbier, Festival Cap Rocat, and Grafenegg.

Deutsche Grammophon’s STAGE+ has revealed the European classical music festivals it will highlight this summer as part of its livestream program.
Each year, STAGE+ presents over 50 livestreams from around the world, showcasing some of the finest international festivals, concert halls, and opera houses. The platform also has an extensive archive of performances, interviews, documentaries and music videos from artists on the label, including Anne-Sophie Mutter, Lang Lang, Daniel Hope, Hilary Hahn and more.
STAGE+ is currently offering a special summer offer for its programming: two months of unlimited access to the platform and its livestreams for just €1. The offer is valid until August 31st, 2025. This year, the streaming service will specifically highlight three of Europe’s largest classical-focused festivals, as well as two new events: Bayreuth, Salzburg, Verbier, Festival Cap Rocat and Grafenegg.
Bayreuth Festival
This Green Hill festival has been a key platform for classical music since 1876, when Richard Wagner founded the event as a venue for his operas. Every summer for well over a century, Bayreuth has restaged Wagner’s final ten “mature operas” over the course of a month as part of the festival—and through STAGE+, fans unable to make the trek to Bavaria can watch the performances live at home.
This year, a new production of “Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg,” which premiered on July 25th, streamed exclusively on STAGE+ in 4K and Dolby Atmos. Over 30 full-length productions from Bayreuth are available as part of STAGE+’s VOD library, including a new production of “Tristan und Isolde” and Dmitri Tcherniakov’s 2021 staging of “Der fliegende Holländer.”
Salzburg Festival
Founded in 1920, the annual Salzburg Festival celebrates classical music in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s birthplace over several weeks in the summer. Programming—which was led for a long time by Herbert von Karajan—spans opera, concert performances and drama.
This summer, STAGE+ will stream a variety of highlights from the festivities live. These include an August 10th concert by the Vienna Philharmonic conducted by Andris Nelsons, which will focus on works by Gustav Mahler and Dmitri Shostakovich. As with Bayreuth, STAGE+ also hosts an array of archival audio and video recordings from the festival’s history, encompassing solo recitals, orchestral concerts, operas and more. Don’t miss, for example, Daniil Trifonov’s 2023 piano recital from the festival, wherein the brilliant pianist explored works from Tchaikovsky, Schumann, Mozart, and Scriabin.
Verbier Festival
Although the Verbier Festival is much newer than Bayreuth or Salzburg, the Swiss Alps-based series has swiftly grown into a first-rate showcase for soloists, conductors and ensembles established and emerging alike.
This year marks the 32nd annual edition of the festival, and STAGE+ will mark the occasion with a variety of livestreamed content, including a fresh concert from Daniil Trifonov focused on the work of Chopin. Another livestream highlight was a July 24th performance from the piano trio of Renaud Capuçon, Gautier Capuçon, and Martha Argerich, who will present their renditions of classics from Haydn and Bartholdy. Standout archival content available on STAGE+ includes a 2024 recital from pianist Noboyuki Tsujii, who presented works by Bach, Liszt, Ravel, and Kapustin.
Festival Cap Rocat
One of two new festivals joining STAGE+’s repertoire this year, Mallorca’s Festival Cap Rocat is the largest classical open-air festival in the Balearic Islands. It’s played host to the likes of Elīna Garanča, Pretty Yende, and Jonas Kauffman over the years—now, you can experience the festival’s highlights via STAGE+. Standout moments from past years include Garanča’s performance in Cavalleria rusticana.
Grafenegg Festival
The second new festival to premiere on STAGE+ this year, Grafenegg Festival takes place annually in Lower Austria—its programming spans opera, concert, theatre, and dance. Catch Grafenegg’s standout opening concert via STAGE+, where it was streamed live this year. The platform also features audio and video from the festival’s expansive offerings, from orchestra concerts in the Wolkenturm to chamber music.
