Stevie Wonder is bringing Songs in the Key of Life back to the stage in celebration of its 50th anniversary. The legendary musician has announced a 18-date fall tour dedicated entirely to the classic 1976 album, which he’ll play in full on every show. The run begins in October in Birmingham, England and will make stops in Paris, London, and more before heading stateside. North American dates include shows at New York’s Madison Square Garden, Chicago’s United Center, and two dates in his hometown Detroit, at the Fox Theatre. The run closes out with a performance at Los Angeles’ Intuit Dome on December 19.

Widely considered one of the greatest albums in the history of modern American music, Songs in the Key of Life was produced, written, composed, and arranged almost entirely by Wonder—he also played every instrument featured on the LP. Additional contributions came from Herbie Hancock, George Benson, Minnie Riperton, and more. The LP ultimately won Wonder his third Grammy Award for Album of the Year after debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Among its many hits are “Isn’t She Lovely,” “As,” “Sir Duke,” and “I Wish,” the latter of which also earned Wonder a Grammy for Best Male R&B Vocal Performance. It’s preserved as part of the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry, which compiles sound recordings that “are culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant, and inform or reflect life in the United States.”

This new tour will be Wonder’s first official one since 2024, when he marked a pivotal presidential election season with an 11-city run titled Sing Your Song! As We Fix Our Nation’s Broken Heart. But he has continued performing in the two years since, appearing as part of a tribute to Quincy Jones at the 2025 Grammys and a medley honoring Sly Stone at the same year’s Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.
