Max & Luke Dean, Nafe Smallz Release ‘Not A Problem’
The trio wrote the single after one of Max Dean’s Ibiza gigs.
Max & Luke Dean have teamed with UK rapper and songwriter Nafe Smallz for a new single, “Not A Problem,” released via Interscope Records. The track, written by all three artists and produced by Max and Luke, is their first release together as a trio.

“Not A Problem” grew out of a session held the day after one of Max Dean’s gigs in Ibiza. The production pairs string stabs, a heavy bassline and synths with Smallz’s lyrics about luxury, while crowd noise is worked into the track. An official video, directed by Double Or Nothing Productions and produced by Thomas Kral, follows Max, Luke and Smallz through Ibiza, Cannes and St. Tropez.
Max and Luke Dean are cousins who have developed separate careers in house music as well as a growing run of joint releases. Max is associated with a minimal, driving tech-house sound, while Luke’s work leans toward melodic deep house. Their collaboration with Locky, “Can’t Decide,” went viral and entered the UK Top 40, and they released their first joint EP, The Finest, in 2025. In 2026, the pair also played back-to-back sets at EDC and Coachella. Both are touring through the end of the year, with dates scheduled across Europe, the UK, Australia and the U.S.
Smallz and Max first met at London’s KOKO in 2023 after each had considered working with the other. The collaboration developed from an idea to bring Smallz’s “Ozone rap” approach together with Max’s house production. Their earlier track “Feel Much Better” also featured Timbaland; Luke later remixed the song and contributed production to Smallz’s 2026 EP It’s Not You It’s Me. Smallz has also released songs including “What Do You Mean” and “5AM” with M Huncho, while several of his mixtapes have reached the Top 10 of the UK’s Official Hip Hop and R&B Albums chart.
