Cold War Kids Share ‘We Used to Vacation’ Video
The official video for the ‘Robbers & Cowards’ favorite makes its YouTube debut.
Cold War Kids have officially released the video for “We Used to Vacation,” making the Robbers & Cowards favorite available on YouTube for the first time.

The newly unveiled video dates back to the era of the band’s 2006 debut album, offering a visual companion to one of the songs that helped establish Cold War Kids during their early years. “We Used to Vacation” appeared on Robbers & Cowards alongside fellow fan favorites “Hang Me Up to Dry” and “Hospital Beds.”
The video arrives as the Long Beach, California indie rockers celebrates the 20th anniversary of Robbers & Cowards. The album’s anniversary campaign has already brought several previously unreleased pieces of material from the period back into the spotlight, with the expanded edition set to feature four previously lost songs alongside six live recordings from the band’s early touring years.
Among the previously unheard tunes are “There Goes The Night” and “Loyalty,” both originally written during the project’s era before being completed by the band decades later. “There Goes The Night” arrived in June, followed by “Loyalty” in July.
The anniversary edition of Robbers & Cowards is due October 30 in multiple formats, including 2LP deluxe, limited-edition 2LP Color Deluxe, 1CD, Digital Deluxe, and ATMOS. The expanded collection preserves the original album while adding the four songs from the era and six live performances recorded in 2007 in the U.S. and Europe.
The “We Used to Vacation” video also arrives after a busy summer for Cold War Kids. The band joined Young the Giant for a North American tour that included stops in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, and Indianapolis before the run concluded August 9.
Upon its release, Robbers & Cowards reached No.173 on the Billboard 200 and peaked at No.4 on Billboard’s US Heatseekers Albums chart, all while showcasing the band’s now-signature blues-inspired indie rock sound to the world.
