Meet Kinsley On Debut EP ‘Learn To Live’
The six-track project includes a Caitlyn Smith collaboration and closes with ‘Learn To Live (Louder).’
Kinsley has released her debut EP, Learn To Live, via MCA. The six-song collection was written or co-written entirely by the 22-year-old Nashville-based singer-songwriter and includes a guest appearance from Caitlyn Smith.

The EP opens with “Pieces Of Me,” written by Kinsley with David DeVaul and Jack Hummel, and continues with “Someone Prayed For Me,” co-written with Chase McDaniel and Clara Park. Park also contributed to “Waiting Room” alongside Kinsley and Scott Stepakoff. The songs address questions of identity, uncertainty and difficult personal experiences, themes that recur across the project.
Smith appears on “Cold July” and is one of the song’s four writers, alongside Kinsley, Lauren Hungate and Gordie Sampson. Kinsley said working with Smith affected both the writing and performance of the track. “Collaborating with Caitlyn Smith challenged me,” she said. “She pushed me both vocally and lyrically, and I am forever grateful and honored to have her on this song. She truly brings this track to life.”
“Whiplash,” written with Devin Dawson and Josh Kerr, draws on Kinsley’s longstanding interest in rock music, while the self-written “Learn To Live (Louder)” closes the EP. An earlier version of “Learn To Live” was the first original song Kinsley shared publicly and later drew responses online and at writers rounds, making it an early step toward the six-track project. Before turning to songwriting, Kinsley used poetry as an outlet for writing about her experiences, a practice that later carried into her music. Raised across California, Texas and Tennessee, she is also a Sony Music Nashville writer.
