Logic Announces Vinyl Reissue Of ‘The Incredible True Story’

Logic’s The Incredible True Story is set to return to vinyl as a limited-edition, numbered, space blue 2LP reissue. Originally released in 2015, the rapper’s sophomore LP features standout singles like “Young Jesus” and “Fade Away.”

The album was a massive success upon its release, landing at No.1 on Billboard’s US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and peaking at No.3 on the Billboard 200. The album, which was produced in large part by Logic himself, has since been certified Platinum in the United States.

Upon the album’s release, Logic spoke with The FADER about the inspiration for the album, particularly the concept that informs the LP’s narrative. “There are a million in one things [that the album’s characters Thomas and Kai] talk about. They talk about women, they talk about unprotected sex, and they talk about how we destroyed Earth. They talk about a place that I feel we really are going—that if we don’t take care of our planet, and don’t take care of ourselves, [then] we are going to destroy everything that we have,” he explained.

Logic added: “I saw Interstellar in the Chinese Theater in Hollywood, it was amazing [and] it really made me emotional; it made me cry in several scenes. [It made me think] about humanity and how much we should care about each other. I want to create another world with my music.”

He also spoke about the vulnerability that informed the project, particularly after the success of his debut, Under Pressure. “When I let all that s**t go, and was like, I’m an anime nerd—[a] sci-fi loving, film-going m**********r—that completely changed how open I was as far as lyrical content, for sure.”

In other Logic news, back in May he announced that the Bobby Tarantino mixtape would be arriving on vinyl for the first time. The project was released as a standard black vinyl LP and as a limited edition Pine Needle Marble LP.
