Billy Idol and longtime guitarist and collaborator Steve Stevens will be honored by the City of Los Angeles on Friday, November 13, with a decree proclaiming Billy Idol Day. Councilwoman Monica Rodriguez will present the decree during a City Council session, followed by a free public celebration and acoustic duo performance at City Hall.

The outdoor event will take place on the steps at City Hall Park in Downtown Los Angeles, where Idol and Stevens will perform with special surprise guests. Fans are invited to attend the festivities, which come one day before the pair’s induction into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

The 2026 induction ceremony is scheduled for November 14 at Los Angeles’ Peacock Theater, with tickets on sale now. The ceremony will debut on ABC and Disney+ in December. The performer class also includes Phil Collins, Iron Maiden, Joy Division/New Order, Oasis, Sade, Luther Vandross, and the Wu-Tang Clan. The event will return to Cleveland in 2027.

Before the November celebrations, Idol and Stevens will appear as special guests at Aerosmith’s Hollywood Bowl show on October 29. Idol recently completed the latest U.S. leg of his worldwide It’s A Nice Day To…Tour Again! tour. The pair’s musical partnership dates to the start of Idol’s solo career in 1982, following his time fronting Generation X. Stevens also contributed performances and co-writing throughout Idol’s 2025 album, Dream Into It, his first full-length collection of new music in more than a decade. Released through Dark Horse Records and produced by Tommy English, the album features Avril Lavigne, Joan Jett, and Alison Mosshart of The Kills.

Idol’s career is also the subject of Billy Idol Should Be Dead, the feature-length documentary directed by Jonas Åkerlund and produced by Live Nation Studios. The film is streaming on Hulu following its theatrical run, drawing on archival material and interviews with Idol, his family, peers, and collaborators. Another November release follows the induction: an all-analog, 180-gram One Step Edition of Rebel Yell, due November 20 through Interscope-Capitol Records’ Definitive Sound Series.
