‘April’s Gone’ Brings Norah Jones And Chris Stapleton Together
Jones wrote the Christmas song with Leon Michels, who produced her 2024 album ‘Visions.’
Norah Jones and Chris Stapleton have released “April’s Gone,” a new Christmas duet. Written by Jones and producer Leon Michels, the song follows a fading relationship in need of a spark during the holiday season.

Jones explained how Stapleton became involved: “After Leon and I wrote ‘April’s Gone,’ I couldn’t stop hearing Chris’ voice in my head singing it,” she said. “I’ve always loved him and wanted to sing with him. Mickey Raphael connected us, and next thing I knew a recording of Chris singing the song was in my inbox, I was so happy! His voice is just incredible.”
The song continues Jones’ collaboration with Michels, which began with her 2021 holiday album I Dream Of Christmas. Michels also produced her most recent studio album, Visions, released in 2024. That album earned Jones her 10th GRAMMY Award.
Jones has also announced Playing Along, Volume 2, due November 27 as a Black Friday Record Store Day exclusive. The LP collects performances from the second season of her podcast, Norah Jones Is Playing Along, where she talks with fellow musicians and joins them for impromptu musical collaborations. Available exclusively at independent record stores on red vinyl, the collection features a selection of songs with guests including Lucinda Williams, Jason Isbell, Joshua Homme, Lucius, Meshell Ndegeocello, Ron Carter, Bill Frisell, and Josh Groban.
