The Beatles’ ‘Let It Be’ Hits One Billion Streams On Spotify
The 1970 classic was the title track of the band’s twelfth and final album.
The Beatles have achieved another major streaming milestone, with their timeless 1970 single “Let It Be” officially joining Spotify’s Billions Club after surpassing one billion streams on the platform.
The song becomes the legendary British band’s third track to reach the milestone, following George Harrison’s “Here Comes The Sun” and the John Lennon-Paul McCartney composition “Come Together,” both from their 1969 album Abbey Road.
Originally released as a single in March 1970, “Let It Be” was the title track of The Beatles’ twelfth and final studio album. Written and sung by Paul McCartney, the song became one of their most memorable singles, as McCartney announced his departure from the band shortly after its release.
“Let It Be” was recorded during the band’s turbulent final years, with sessions beginning in January 1969. The single version was produced by George Martin, while the album version featured additional production by Phil Spector.
Upon its release, “Let It Be” debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the highest-debuting single on the chart at the time. It eventually climbed to No. 1, adding another chart-topping hit to The Beatles’ extraordinary run throughout the 1960s and early 1970s.

The song has remained a defining part of the band’s legacy, appearing in the 1970 documentary Let It Be. In 2024, a restored version of the film arrived on Disney+, accompanied by a new music video for the tune featuring restored footage and previously unseen outtakes.
The Beatles’ catalog continues to receive renewed attention in 2026. Earlier this month, the band released an expanded special edition of their 1965 album Rubber Soul, featuring new stereo and Dolby Atmos mixes, previously unreleased session recordings, and home demos. Meanwhile, McCartney recently announced a Special Edition of his latest solo album, The Boys Of Dungeon Lane, featuring a new mix of his Ringo Starr collaboration “Home To Us” and three previously unreleased songs.
