Haim will start recording their second album this month, with keyboard player Alana Haim promising that it will be ready “very soon” — even though they’re currently on the road, as they have been most of the time since they broke through last year.

The California group, fronted by sisters Alana, Este and Arielle Haim along with drummer Dash Hutton, shot to prominence with their ‘Days Are Gone’ debut. Released only last September, it went to No. 1 in the UK and reached the top ten in the US, Australia and many other countries.

Haim played at the Other Stage on the opening day at Glastonbury, where Alana told BBC 6 Music: “This is the first time we’ve ever written on the road. We’re going home in a month to start recording. I promise record two won’t come in six years, it’ll come very soon.”

Nevertheless, the tour dates keep coming for Haim, who’ll be at T In The Park and Latitude in July, before starting a seven-date US tour on August 2. Further down the road, they’re due to play the Corona Festival in Mexico on October 24.
