“One of the UK’s most exciting young composers”
Isobel Waller-Bridge, described as, “One of the UK’s most exciting young composers,” by The Guardian, seamlessly blends classical, orchestral and experimental music with electronics into her distinctive style. She is also adept with choral music, featured in her dramatic score for Fleabag, the hit stage play-turned TV phenomenon which introduced her music to millions worldwide.
Her score for Autumn de Wilde’s directorial debut Emma, starring Anya Taylor-Joy in the title role, was inspired by the music of Mozart and Haydn, as well as the lively wit of Jane Austen’s eponymous matchmaker.
Isobel Waller-Bridge’s wide-ranging credits also include music for the film Vita & Virginia, as well as Vanity Fair (ITV & Amazon), The ABC Murders (BBC One), The Split (BBC One) and a feature-length episode of Black Mirror (Netflix), starring Miley Cyrus. She has also written for theatre and fashion shows. Isobel Waller-Bridge is currently writing the music for the forthcoming Netflix spy thriller Munich, starring Jeremy Irons and George MacKay, based on the book by best-selling author Robert Harris.
Despite her innovative approach to composition, Waller-Bridge took a traditional route into the industry and studied Music at Edinburgh University, King’s College London and the Royal Academy of Music.
Isobel Waller-Bridge joins a roster of innovative contemporary composers at Decca Publishing including Max Richter, Clint Mansell, Laurel Halo and Actress.
