aron! has released his debut album Too Close For Running via Verve Records. The 12-track project arrives alongside the official music video for “Tandem Bike,” a song centered on the early stages of a relationship. It is aron!’s first full-length release since signing with Verve in 2025.

The album draws on aron!’s experiences of attending college, moving to New York City to pursue music, falling in love and adjusting to the changes that followed. It marks a shift from the more dreamlike writing of his previous EP, with the new record based more directly on events from his life. The sequence is presented as a coming-of-age story, moving through new relationships and the complications that can follow. Explaining the title, aron! said, “That’s the idea of the album — that moment where we’re too close to start running away now.”

“Tandem Bike” focuses on the point when a relationship begins to come together, while the wider album also addresses less idealized parts of love. aron! said the record makes room for everyday details that he had previously left out of his songs, arguing that those ordinary moments can be central to a relationship.

The release follows a run of singles from aron! in 2026. In August, he shared “Call When You Can,” a collaboration with dodie that combines pop songwriting with jazz-influenced elements. Other tracks issued ahead of the album include “Not For A Lack Of Trying” and June’s “Shiny Stockings,” while earlier releases included “Macramé” with Mei Semones and “Wonderful Thing.” John Mayer later featured “Wonderful Thing” on his SiriusXM channel Life with John Mayer. aron!’s first Verve EP, cozy you (and other nice songs), also received a Christmas edition, and he was selected for Vevo’s DSCVR Artists to Watch class of 2026.
