Two major guest artists have been announced for Taylor Swift’s outdoor UK show next summer at Barclaycard presents British Summer Time Hyde Park 2015. The American superstar will be joined on the bill on June 27 by Ellie Goulding and John Newman, with further names to be added.
Swift is bringing her ‘1989 World Tour’ to the Great Oak Stage in the famous London park, in her first UK performance since the worldwide sellout ‘RED’ tour included five shows at London’s The O2 in the early part of this year.
Her new album ‘1989’ is a chart sensation worldwide, the biggest-selling release in the US since 2002 and the only album to go platinum there this year. The album debuted at No. 1 in the UK, topped the iTunes album charts in 95 countries and already has worldwide sales of more than three million copies, only a month after release.
She’s also currently No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with ‘Blank Space,’ which succeeded ‘Shake It Off’ at the summit. Swift is the first female artist in the chart’s illustrious history to replace herself at the top of the Hot 100.
Goulding’s career sales already stand at some 20 million, and she’s currently in the top ten of the UK singles chart once again guesting on Calvin Harris’ ‘Outside.’ She joined Taylor on stage in Los Angeles during the ‘RED’ tour and they sang Goulding’s hits ‘Anything Could Happen’ and ‘Burn’ together.
Soul star Newman is now working on the sequel to his UK No. 1 debut album ‘Tribute.’ His own collaboration with Harris, ‘Blame,’ topped the British singles chart in September.
Swift’s June 27 date in Hyde Park comes the night after The Who’s recently announced show at the Barclaycard Presents British Summer Time Hyde Park event, with guests Paul Weller, Kaiser Chiefs and Johnny Marr. Tickets for the entire festival are available here.
