The soundtrack for The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping will feature 29 artists, with its full tracklist now revealed. The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping (The Album) is due November 13 through MCA, a week before the film arrives in theaters on November 20.
The album is executive produced by Dave Cobb, whose production credits include work with Chris Stapleton and Sturgill Simpson. Its contributors span multiple genres and include Ella Langley, Mckenna Grace, Noah Cyrus, Violet Grohl and Whitney Peak. Peak appears on four tracks, including a series of three titled “The Raven I,” “The Raven II” and “The Raven III.” Grace, who plays Maysilee Donner in the film, also performs on the album.
Three songs had been released ahead of the tracklist announcement: Noah Kahan’s “Draw You Out,” the Smashing Pumpkins’ “Black Stars” and Gigi Perez’s “Favor.” The full album adds contributions from artists including Kacey Musgraves, Stevie Nicks, Depeche Mode with KÁRYYN, the Cure and Jennifer Lawrence. The sequence closes with the Cure’s “Alone (Live in Berlin 2022).”
The film is directed by Francis Lawrence and follows Haymitch Abernathy, played by Joseph Zada, on the day of the reaping for the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell. Set 24 years before the events of the first Hunger Games story, it takes Haymitch into an arena where he forms an alliance with fellow tribute Maysilee Donner and joins others seeking to challenge the Capitol. The cast also includes Ralph Fiennes, Jesse Plemons, Glenn Close, Kieran Culkin, Elle Fanning, Maya Hawke, Whitney Peak and Kelvin Harrison Jr. The film is based on Suzanne Collins’ novel.
