Listen To JYT’s New Single ‘I Wanted You’
The five-member group also has a new Gap partnership and upcoming iHeartRadio Jingle Ball dates.
JYT (Just Your Type) has released a new single “I Wanted You” via Wexler Records/Republic Records. The mid-tempo ballad centers on the frustration of falling for someone who showed interest first, only for that person to pull back once the feelings become mutual. Its premise mixes flirtation and jealousy with that reversal, as the narrator is left questioning what changed. The release arrives alongside a new partnership between Gap Inc. and the five-member group.

The band said the song follows the confusion that can come when mutual attraction suddenly shifts. “‘I Wanted You’ is about someone making you feel like you’re everything they want… until you finally tell them you feel the same. Then you’re left wondering what changed, because all you did was believe them. We’re so grateful for how much love our fans have shown this song, and we’re really excited that it’s finally out in the world,” JYT said.
Gap Inc.’s collaboration with JYT is the first activation of its new Fashiontainment platform. Plans include a docuseries, a national mall tour, live in-store activations and a Gap x JYT capsule collection co-designed by all five members. The partnership follows a summer of live appearances for the group, including a 24-camp tour. In August, JYT joined Charlie Puth, YEONJUN and Bella Kay for iHeartRadio’s Z100 Summer Bash at Hudson Yards in New York. According to a press release, the event drew the largest crowd in Summer Bash history.
Weeks later, JYT headlined Arthur Ashe Kids’ Day at the US Open, an event whose previous headliners have included Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, and more. Next, the group will join Kylie Cantrall on the road before appearing across the full iHeartRadio Jingle Ball tour.
