The Killers have announced they’ll release a studio version of “Dying Breed” this Friday, August 14, having previously teased the track on livestreams. The song is set to appear on the band’s forthcoming album Imploding The Mirage, which is set for release on August 21.

Posting on Twitter, the band wrote: “Friday, the highly anticipated ‘Dying Breed’ will finally be available to all.”

The sixth record from the Las Vegas band will be released on August 21 via EMI and is the follow-up to 2017’s Wonderful Wonderful.

Produced in conjunction with Shawn Everett and Jonathan Rado of Foxygen, the latest album from the Brandon Flowers-led band was recorded in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Park City, Utah. It also features an array of star-studded guests, including the likes of Lindsey Buckingham, kd lang, Weyes Blood, Adam Granduciel (War On Drugs), Blake Mills and Lucius.

Confirming the August release of Imploding The Mirage, The Killers released a cinematic visual for their newest single, “My Own Soul’s Warning” during July. “My Own Soul’s Warning” follows the band’s chart-topping single “Caution,” and the more recent “Fire In Bone.” The Killers also shared cover art for Imploding The Mirage on their socials, writing “COVID-19 monkey wrenched us. But we persevered. Folks, mark your calendars.”

The Killers also recently offered fans updates on their touring plans. Not surprisingly, amid the global pandemic, the band will be postponing their remaining 2020 tour dates for North America and Australia. As of now, their 2021 UK shows (listed below) are not affected.

The Killers play the following 2021 UK and Irish tour dates:

May 25 – Doncaster, Keepmoat Stadium
May 27 – Bristol, Ashton Gate Stadium
