Released through Def Jam Recordings, the deluxe album features production by Kali alongside longtime collaborator Sol Was. Among its additions are a remix of “Sleepwalking” featuring Durand Bernarr, which arrives with an accompanying visualizer, and the previously released “Pieces” remix with Lucky Daye. The new versions revisit songs from an album that draws on soul, R&B, funk, and experimental pop, while continuing its exploration of intimacy, self-discovery, and human connection.
Kali described the expanded release as a celebration of the relationships behind his music. “LK99+ is the party. Honoring the beautiful creative and personal friendships I’ve made over the years collaborating. The theme is still ‘dance, don’t film’. Spend more time being in your moments than capturing them. Be present with the people you love, and don’t be afraid to groove.”
Alongside his solo recordings, Kali has worked as a songwriter, producer, and instrumentalist for other artists. His credits include contributions to Beyoncé’s Renaissance and COWBOY CARTER. On Renaissance, he co-wrote “Alien Superstar,” “Plastic Off the Sofa,” “Virgo’s Groove,” and “Summer Renaissance.”
