Megadeth Announce US Tour With Meshuggah And Tesseract

Megadeth Summer Tour

After taking home the Grammy this year for ‘Best Metal Performance’ for their new album Dystopia, thrash legends Megadeth are taking a victory lap this summer with the recent announcement of their US tour.

Appropriately titled Post American World Tour, the tour kicks off on 23 June in Big Flats, New York and will take them across the states with one stop in Canada in Windsor, Ontario.

Joining them are special guests Meshuggah, a Swedish extreme metal band, UK prog-metal outfit Tesseract and LA band Lillake, featuring former Suicidal Tendencies guitarist/vocalist Nico Santora and drummer Eric Moore.

Tickets are now available for pre-sale for Megadeth fan club members and will go on sale to the general public beginning tomorrow, 21 April. Visit the band’s official website for specific details. A single asterisk connotes festival dates while a double asterisk means only Megadeth and Meshuggah are playing.

Along with metal legend Dave Mustaine at the helm, the band’s current line-up includes Kiko Loureiro on guitar, David Ellefson on bass and Dirk Verbeuren on drums. The tour will be supporting their 15th studio album, Dystopia, that reached No. 3 on The Billboard Top 200 and No. 1 on the Hard Music/Top Rock charts.

After wrapping their US tour, Megadeth will be hitting the road with hard rock legends Scorpions in the fall as special guests on their Crazy World tour starting on 14 September. Stay tuned as both tours have additional dates to be announced.
