Morgan Wallen, widely hailed as a new superstar of country music with the record-breaking success of his Big Loud/Republic release Dangerous: The Double Album, has shared three bonus tracks from the sessions.
“This Side Of A Dust Cloud” and “Bandaid On A Bullet Hole” were previously exclusive to Target, while “Sand In My Boots (The Dangerous Sessions)” is an acoustic, live version of the track that opens the record. Wallen thus expands the already vast array of new material, with the original double album housing 30 songs. With the latest additions, it now extends to a total duration of one hour 47 minutes.
After entering the Billboard 200 at No.1 with 265,000 combined units and the biggest-ever streaming total for a country album, Dangerous spent a second week at the summit. It’s the first country album to achieve that feat since 2015.
Entertainment Tonight has described Wallen as “the hottest act in country music at the moment,” while the Washington Post characterizes him as “the future of the genre.” GRAMMY.com notes: “Through countless odes to partying and endless rounds of liquid courage, [Wallen] chronicles a journey of seeking love, losing love and growing up in the piercing heat of a global spotlight.”
In the New York Times, Jon Pareles wrote of Wallen: “His music doesn’t come from some rural front porch. It’s a modern Nashville studio product, aimed for radio playlists and, eventually, big concert spaces.”
The three newly-available songs are all produced by Joey Moi, with co-production on “Bandaid On A Bullet Hole” by Jacob Durrett. Credits are as follows:
1. “This Side Of A Dust Cloud” (Morgan Wallen, Matt Dragstrem, Chase McGill, Josh Thompson)
2. “Bandaid On A Bullet Hole” (Morgan Wallen, Jacob Durrett, Ashley Gorley)
3. “Sand In My Boots (The Dangerous Sessions)” (Ashley Gorley, Michael Hardy, Josh Osborne)
