“I decided to record a cover of Daniel Johnston’s ‘True Love Will Find You in the End’ because I was fascinated by the song and Daniel’s story after discovering him,” says Bradley of her decision to lead her new collection with the Johnston son. “Daniel’s recording of the song is deeply emotional and sincere but it also has that childlike purity and naivety lyrically and musically that all his music has. I was interested to see if I could add a little more structure and complexity to the arrangement without losing the simplicity that’s at the heart of why the song works.”
Blackwood Pew, which features other tracks like “Last Kind Words Blue” and “Dancing On My Grave,” comes amid many impressive years in Bradley’s career, made more impressive by the fact that she’s only 19. After first rising to attention in late 2023, the musician spent 2024 performing around Europe, which quickly raised her profile and led to more performances in 2024 and 2025. Bradley signed to Decca in 2024, which, in addition to the Rose Dogs EP, resulted in singles “When The Levee Breaks,” “Don’t Think Twice It’s Alright,” “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry,” “These Days,” and “Clay Pigeons.” After performing at the All Together Now Festival in Ireland earlier this year, Bradley will perform in festivals in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and the Netherlands in the remaining months of 2026.
