People I’ve Met Release ‘We Like Making Noise’
The trio wrote and produced the track, which has become a regular closer at their live shows.
People I’ve Met have released their new single, “We Like Making Noise,” today, September 25, via Interscope Records. Written and produced by all three members of the alt-rock trio, the track follows their debut EP, Bunny, which arrived in May.

“We Like Making Noise” focuses on the experience of making music with friends, drawing on a relationship that predates the band itself. Bassist Andrew Suster and drummer Orlando Wiltshire met in middle school and played together in their Los Angeles school’s jazz ensemble. Vocalist and guitarist Moses Martin joined them in 10th grade, and the three began developing their sound while rehearsing in Wiltshire’s garage. The group later relocated to the East Coast and began performing live, with “We Like Making Noise” regularly closing their sets.
Martin said the song began with an idea that emerged three years ago during an informal writing session. “I was sitting and the chorus popped into my head and Orlando beatboxed it,” he said. The contrast between the song’s sections reflects the dynamics of the group’s live performances, moving from Martin’s quieter verses into a louder chorus led by Wiltshire’s rapid drumming. Martin added that audiences have continued requesting the track at shows: “Fans keep asking for the noise. We keep giving it to them.”
The single was made entirely by Martin, Suster and Wiltshire, who handled both its writing and production. Suster said working independently helped preserve the character of the song. “It felt closer to the source, and more pure given that we made it at our own houses,” he said.
People I’ve Met are currently on a short run of dates with Irish rock band Florence Road and are scheduled to play New York’s Bowery Ballroom on September 28, followed by the Sinclair in Cambridge, Massachusetts, on September 29.
