Robert Plant, Luke Combs and Bonnie Raitt are among the additions on a new set of dates for Willie Nelson’s 2019 Outlaw Music Festival Tour. The details were announced yesterday (29), Nelson’s 86th birthday, as he prepares for the 21 June release of his new album Ride Me Back Home.
In March, the tour had already announced ten dates for its first leg, which runs from 14 June to 3 July, including Nelson himself and family, his son Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real, Alison Krauss, Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats, Counting Crows, Old Crow Medicine Show, Dawes, Steve Earle and the Dukes and many others.
The second leg of the tour begins on 6 September and runs until the 22nd, with shows along the East Coast and upper Midwest. Raitt will appear on most of those dates; Plant and his band the Sensational Space Shifters and country giant Combs will play one show each (on 20 and 22 September respectively). Brothers Osborne are also on the bill for some of the second leg concerts. Local cuisine, craft beers and crafts by local artisans will be available at each date.
“We had so much fun on the Outlaw Music Festival Tour last year that we couldn’t wait to get back out on the road with everyone,” said Nelson when the first dates were announced. Keith Wortman, CEO of Blackbird Presents, added: “The fans told us what they wanted on the Outlaw Music Festival Tour in 2019, and I am thrilled to have delivered this to them. This summer’s lineup with Willie Nelson and our caravan of artists continues to take the Outlaw Music Festival experience to a whole new level.”
Krauss and Rateliff are among the artists who will also be appearing at Nelson’s 4th of July Picnic for this year, on which we reported recently. More information about all of the guests and dates at the 2019 Outlaw Music Festival are at the website, where you can also buy tickets.
