Singer and songwriter Stephen Sanchez is expanding the dimensions of his viral single “Until I Found You” with a newly released updated version featuring Los Angeles-based musician Em Beihold via Republic Records.
“I was honored Em decided to jump on this song,” Sanchez shared in a statement. “It was so fun working with her and can’t wait to do something else again in the future!”
Beihold, who added her own original verse to the popular track, emphasized: “The first time I heard ‘Until I Found You’ I literally did a double take. Stephen’s voice is insane and when I got the opportunity to feature on it there was no question. I’m so honored to be on it!”
The singer and songwriter’s single has received viral support on TikTok and has reached 28 million global streams since its release last September.
“When I wrote ‘Until I Found You’ I was in the worst place ever,” Sanchez shared in a past statement. “Then I met someone who was so loving and great to me though. I didn’t feel good enough for this person so I pushed them away. We spent some time apart and when we re-connected it was like no time had passed.”
He adds: “I wrote ‘Until I Found You’ to let them know how important they were to me and to let them know how much of an idiot I was when I pushed them away the first time.”
Growing up, Sanchez was enamored with the musical worlds of Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, The Platters, and The Ink Spot. “When you listen to those old records from the fifties and the sixties, they sound like they’re coming from another dimension,” he says. “The songs were simple, but profound, romantic, and beautiful. It sparked a desire to write what I was hearing. To me, songwriting is like taking a memory and putting it in a projector for everyone to see.”
