Just four weeks after Taylor Swift released her critically acclaimed album Lover, it’s received platinum certification from the RIAA in recognition of over 1 million US sales today.

All 18 tracks from Lover went on to chart on the Billboard Hot 100 upon release, making Swift the No.1 most-streamed female artist globally on Spotify.

As Swift’s seventh album. Lover has emerged as a fan favourite and earned the singer’s highest ranking on Metacritic. It’s also generated early Grammy buzz, as Swift has entered three singles for various categories including ‘ME!’ for best pop duo/group performance, ‘You Need to Calm Down’ for best pop solo performance and record of the year and ‘Lover’ for song of the year.

The pop superstar also recently announced her 2020 tour dates in support of the album on 17 September. So far she’s only listed two cities for her US dates, dubbed ‘Lover Fest West’ and ‘Lover Fest East’, she’ll be the inaugural performer at the NFL SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on 25-26 July and a two-night stint at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts on 31 July and 1 August.

She also announced a series of European tour dates, writing on social media, “The Lover album is open fields, sunsets + SUMMER. I want to perform it in a way that feels authentic. I want to go to some places I haven’t been and play festivals. Where we didn’t have festivals, we made some.”

The 2020 Lover tour will kick off on 20 June in Werchter, Belgium, with seven more dates slated in Germany, Norway, Denmark, Poland, France, Portugal and Sao Paulo, Brazil.
