The Killers have announced newly mastered vinyl editions and a 7-inch box set celebrating the 20th anniversary of their second album, Sam’s Town. The new releases include a numbered 2LP 45 RPM audiophile edition, a Red Smoke 33 RPM edition and the first 7-inch box set devoted to the album’s singles.

The 2LP audiophile edition was mastered for vinyl and cut from assembled analog masters by Ryan Smith at Sterling Sound. Pressed at Optimal Media in Germany, it spreads the album across two 180-gram LPs at 45 RPM and comes in a heavyweight gatefold jacket with an OBI strip and 12-page booklet. The edition also adds the bonus track “Peace Of Mind” and is numbered and limited to 4,000 copies worldwide. A separate Red Smoke edition uses the same mastering and cutting process and is pressed on one 180-gram LP at 33 RPM.

The Sam’s Town 7-inch box set is limited to 2,000 copies and collects the four singles issued during the album’s original era: “When You Were Young,” “Bones,” “Read My Mind” and “For Reasons Unknown,” each paired with its original B-side. A fifth single features “Peace Of Mind” backed by “Read My Mind” (Like Rebel Diamonds Mix), marking the first vinyl release of that mix. The five black-vinyl singles are housed in a top-loading box with a folded 14-inch-by-14-inch poster.

Released as the follow-up to Hot Fuss, Sam’s Town was created after The Killers returned to Las Vegas following touring behind their debut. The band worked with producers Alan Moulder and Flood on the album, which includes “When You Were Young” and “Read My Mind” and spent 42 weeks on the Billboard 200. The newly announced anniversary editions are available to preorder now.
