Country superstar Carrie Underwood has announced a major, five-date arena tour of the UK for this summer as part of her Cry Pretty itinerary. The seven-time Grammy winner, who has also won seven CMA Awards and has worldwide career sales estimated at 64 million, will be supported on the shows by the bestselling British country band in history, the Shires. Underwood delivered the news today (4) with a personal video to her fans on Instagram.

Underwood has been a frequent visitor to the UK in recent years. Her first Atlantic crossing came in 2012, when she performed a sold-out show at London’s Royal Albert Hall. She was back in 2013 for the visit that, along with Tim McGraw, made her one of the launch headliners at the inaugural C2C (Country to Country) Festival.

She returned to C2C for its fourth year in 2016, becoming the first artist to headline the event twice. By then, Underwood had also been in London to become the first country act to headline the Apple Music Festival, where her opening acts were the Shires and Cam, her fellow US country artist. Cam, in turn, will be performing at this year’s C2C Festival this coming weekend in London, Glasgow and Dublin.

Cry Pretty, released in September 2018, entered both the US country and pop charts at No. 1. It also became her third top 20 album in the UK. Underwood will play North American shows before this next UK trek, for which tickets go on sale on Thursday (7) at gigsandtours.com and  ticketmaster.co.uk. A donation of £1 from each ticket sold the Cry Pretty Tour UK to be contributed to Danita’s Children. The charity provides a safe haven for abandoned and vulnerable children in Haiti, while encouraging families to stay together through their education and malnutrition programmes.

Dates on the Cry Pretty Tour UK are as follows:

Sunday, June 30 / Cardiff, Wales – Cardiff Motorpoint Arena
Tuesday, July 2 / Glasgow, Scotland – The SSE Hydro
