“Mariah Carey has given the world the green light, so the holiday season has begun!!!,” wrote the band on social media earlier this week.
With all the hallmarks (pun intended) of a classic holiday tune, ‘Like It’s Christmas’ sees the Grammy Award-nominated powerhouse trio put their own spin on Christmas music.
Along with sweeping piano, handclaps, and sleigh bells, naturally, the single also features guitar hooks and the soothing harmonies of the Jonas Brothers.
‘Like It’s Christmas’ is not the first holiday track from Nick, Joe and Kevin, but it’s their first in 11 years. The trio first released the guitar-heavy ‘Girl of My Dreams’ from their Disney Channel Holiday special, followed by ‘Joyful Kings’ off their 2008 compilation, All Wrapped Up.
Their new Christmas song caps off a landmark year for the band. Following their smash single ‘Sucker’ and No.1 album Happiness Begins, the band continues their success with their sold-out Happiness Begins Tour. The band of brothers also just scored a platinum plaque from the RIAA and received two American Music Awards nominations, including Favourite Duo or Group Pop/Rock and Favourite Song Pop/Rock for their single ‘Sucker’.
In between Tiny Desk Performances and other appearances, the Jonas Brothers resume the second leg of their Happiness Begins Tour.
