Taylor Swift has donated $5 million to Feeding America’s hurricane relief efforts, the organization confirmed on Wednesday. The non-profit has been working to support communities affected by recent Hurricanes Helene and Milton.

“We’re incredibly grateful to Taylor Swift for her generous $5 million donation to Hurricanes Helene and Milton relief efforts,” Feeding America’s CEO Claire Babineaux-Fontenot shared in a statement. “This contribution will help communities rebuild and recover, providing essential food, clean water, and supplies to people affected by these devastating storms. Together, we can make a real impact in supporting families as they navigate the challenges ahead.”

It’s not the first time the artist has supported relief causes. In March 2020, she donated $1 million towards relief efforts in Middle Tennessee after a tornado caused damage to the area. Throughout the course of her Eras tour, she has allotted a portion of earnings towards food banks in the many different cities she has performed. Earlier this year, she also donated $100,000 to the family of Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a musician and mother who was killed during a mass shooting at a Kansas City Chiefs victory parade.

Swift’s actions align her with other music superstars like Dolly Parton, who has donated $1 million towards hurricane relief in her home state of Tennessee. In addition, Parton will also match the donation through her businesses (Dollywood Parks & Resorts, Dolly Parton’s Stampede and Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show and the Dollywood Foundation), which will put another $1 million towards the Mountain Ways Foundation.

A benefit concert at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, North Carolina featuring Sheryl Crow, Keith Urban, Bailey Zimmerman, Luke Combs, James Taylor, Eric Church, Billy Strings has been announced for October 26th. A variety of other artists including R.E.M., the War on Drugs, MJ Lenderman, Waxahatchee, Tyler Childers, and more have also contributed song to a benefit compilation Cardinals at the Window.
