Chris Patrick Releases New Single ‘Check Me’
The M-Tech-produced track arrives as Patrick prepares his forthcoming debut album.
Chris Patrick has released his new single “Check Me” via Def Jam Recordings. The M-Tech-produced track is out now and is set to lead into Patrick’s forthcoming debut album.
On “Check Me,” Patrick moves between autobiographical details and the recurring challenge, “Who gon check me?” The lyrics revisit financial instability, family loss and periods of uncertainty while centering on a more self-assured outlook.
The release follows a run of recent activity for the East Orange, New Jersey rapper. Patrick drew wider attention with a seven-minute freestyle during Kai Cenat and On The Radar’s Mafiathon, performing over the instrumental to Kendrick Lamar’s “Man At The Garden.” The freestyle also brought a public co-sign from Nas, who urged audiences to “look out for [Chris].” Patrick was subsequently included in On The Radar’s 2026 Rap’s New Class and selected for the 2026 XXL Freshman List. His recent releases also include Pray 4 Me and Pray 4 Her (Deluxe), featuring songs like “Ramen Noodles” and “Frankenstein” with Marco Plus.
Patrick has also contributed music to two recent film soundtracks, placing “Alley Oop” on Sony Pictures’ GOAT and “Bigger Than Ever (We Back)” on Scary Movie 6. On the road, he completed the seven-market U.S. Pray 4 Tha Underworld tour with Marco Plus after serving as direct support on J.I.D’s God Does Like Paradise Tour. Before those dates, Patrick had appeared alongside Travis Scott and Russ in earlier performances. Earlier in his career, Patrick’s single “Swish” appeared on the NBA 2K21 soundtrack. He signed with Def Jam Recordings in 2024 and later joined Russ on the European It Was You All Along tour.
