Josiah Queen Releases New Single ‘when I see You’
The Dylan Thomas-produced track previews Queen’s 14-song third album, due October 23.
Josiah Queen has released a new single, “when I see You.” The song is the latest preview of his third studio album, Damascus Road, a 14-track set due October 23. Produced by Dylan Thomas, “when I see You” centers on Queen imagining what it would be like to meet Jesus in Heaven and how that expectation shapes his faith in the present.
“I think about Heaven a lot, and especially what it’ll be like to finally see Jesus face to face,” Queen said. “I’ve always wondered what that moment will actually feel like — what I’ll say, what I’ll do, or if I’ll even have the words.” He added that he wrote the song while imagining that encounter and considering how the hope of it affects the way he wants to live now. Musically, the recording pairs acoustic guitar with a restrained drumbeat, marking a quieter contrast with the folk-rock approach of earlier Damascus Road single “demons.”

The album will also include the previously released “judas,” “make heaven crowded” and “sundays.” “demons” reached No. 1 at Christian radio and topped Billboard’s Hot Christian Songs chart. Damascus Road follows Queen’s 2025 album Mt. Zion, which received a 2026 GMA Dove Awards nomination for Pop/Contemporary Album of the Year. Queen earned seven nominations at this year’s awards in total, including Artist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year. His career catalog has generated more than 2.1 billion global streams.
Queen is currently on the U.K. and European leg of his Mt. Zion Tour, which is scheduled to conclude in Brussels on September 27. He will return to the road next spring for the Damascus Road Tour, beginning April 8, 2027, at BOK Center in Tulsa. The North American arena run also includes dates at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Spectrum Center in Charlotte, Target Center in Minneapolis and Honda Center near Los Angeles.
