Kaitlin Butts Releases ‘What More Could You Want’

Kaitlin Butts has released “What More Could You Want,” a piano ballad from her upcoming fourth studio album. Hello, Honky Tonk is due October 30 via Republic Records, with the new track arriving alongside a music video directed by Chris Beyrooty.

“What More Could You Want” shifts away from the barroom characters and theatrical settings that shape much of Hello, Honky Tonk, focusing instead on the pressure Butts feels as a performer. Built around restrained piano and an unhurried arrangement, the song addresses the tension between enjoying life onstage and questioning whether an audience expects more. “That song feels exactly word for word what I feel like every day,” Butts said. “This tug and pull of loving this and craving this and loving to be on stage, loving every creative moment but also being stressed out wondering, ‘Do you like me? Do I need to be shinier? Do you want more?’”

Beyrooty’s video extends the album’s theatrical concept, drawing on the vaudeville-style vignettes of Chicago and Disney World’s Country Bear Musical Jamboree. Butts has said a recent visit to the original version of the attraction helped shape the visual idea after she saw Teddi Barra, the cowboy-hatted bear who descends from the ceiling on a swing. (The character also inspired the cover of Hello, Honky Tonk.)

Produced in Nashville by Tofer Brown, whose credits include Carter Faith, Willow Avalon and Little Big Town, Hello, Honky Tonk is built around a fictional bar populated by different nightlife characters. Butts has described the concept as partly influenced by Roxie Hart imagining her own show in Chicago, with Nashville venue Skinny Dennis serving as another reference point. “What More Could You Want” follows the album tracks “I Wanna Be Bad” and “Never Really Mine.” The record will be Butts’ first full-length release since signing with Republic Records in October 2025.
