Sollos Announces New Mixes Featuring Olivia Dean, Sam Smith
The release includes extended mixes of songs by Jon Batiste, Shawn Mendes and Niall Horan.
Audio wellness platform Sollos has released 151 re-engineered tracks featuring music by Olivia Dean, Sam Smith, Jon Batiste, Shawn Mendes, Niall Horan, Chad Lawson and others today, marking World Mental Health Day. The collection spans more than eight hours and will be available through Sound Therapy on Apple Music and the Sollos iOS app, which launches in the UK and US the same day. The tracks combine artist recordings with auditory beats and are organized around three listening categories: Focus, Relax and Sleep.
Dean’s Relax collection contains 16 instrumental tracks, including 10 from The Art of Loving, while Smith’s contributions include separate Focus and Relax instrumental collections. Batiste’s “Always Know,” from Monk Meditations, receives a specially commissioned 30-minute meditation mix. Lawson collaborated on a continuous, 90-minute Sleep reworking of his album hush. The release also includes a new, lyric-free version of Mendes’ “Wonder” Sollos Sleep Mix, built from the original stems and extended to 60 minutes. Horan’s “The Show” appears in a 60-minute Bettina Bergström Sollos Sleep Mix.
Sollos, an initiative from Universal Music Group, says the tracks were selected and re-engineered with full artist involvement and approval. Its process uses criteria drawn from research into musical properties, including tempo and harmonic structure, before incorporating auditory beats through its patented Auditory Beats Generator. The system analyzes each recording to integrate the beats into the music. Focus selections use gamma beats, Relax selections use theta beats, and Sleep selections use delta beats.
The new app will be free to download, but access to its music requires an Apple Music account with an active subscription or free trial. Once connected, listeners can record their mood before and after sessions and view a personalized list of the sessions they rated as most impactful. Sollos says it already works with more than 250 artists across genres including pop, R&B, classical, soul and electronic. Its music is also available through Apple Fitness+, alongside the Sound Therapy collection on Apple Music.
