On “Big Shot,” Chxrry delivers a direct challenge to a romantic interest: “Big Shot don’t let me down. If you really like that, show me you’re like that.” The track joins “Like A Man,” “Phone” and “Friends Don’t Kiss” as the edition’s new material. The release is out through XO Records and Republic Records.
The original U, Me & My Ego arrived in May. Its title frames the album’s central idea: Chxrry’s ego as a third presence in her relationships, acting as a source of confidence and self-protection as she navigates desire, jealousy and heartbreak. She developed the album with producer BELIEVVE, balancing the project’s self-assured perspective with vulnerability.
The deluxe follows Chxrry’s sold-out The Ego Tour, which brought the album to US and European audiences. She has also toured in Europe with Mariah The Scientist and joined FLO on their sold-out Access All Areas Tour. Other recent live appearances included joining Rema at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena and performing alongside Destin Conrad in her hometown.
Earlier releases set the stage for the album campaign. “Bottles & Lights,” featuring Mariah The Scientist, preceded “Hall of Fame,” while “Groupie” and “Main Character” helped introduce Chxrry to a wider audience. She also contributed to The Weeknd’s Hurry Up Tomorrow on “Reflections Laughing,” featuring Travis Scott and Florence + The Machine, and appeared in the video for “Cry For Me.”
