La Roux, aka Elly Jackson, split with her musical partner Ben Langmaid during the making of the nine-track set, which she described to Rolling Stone by saying: “It’s a lot warmer, it’s a lot sexier. I’ve said a lot but it’s true, I can’t think of a better way to explain it.

“I wouldn’t say it’s more playful, but it’s playful in different way. I would say it’s musically cheekier. And I think it’s got a lot more groove, because it’s performance-based.”

La Roux will play an intimate album launch show at Conway Hall in London on July 1 and has also announced a seven-date UK tour in November 2014, with the following dates:

Wed Nov 5 Glasgow, O2 ABC
Fri Nov 7 Leeds, Metropolitan University
Sat Nov 8 Birmingham Institute
Mon Nov 10 Bristol, O2 Academy
Fri Nov 13 Norwich, UEA
Sat Nov 15 Oxford, O2 Academy
Sun Nov 16 Manchester, Ritz
