Music Of Bon Jovi, Meat Loaf & More Heads For London Stage
The music of Bon Jovi, Meat Loaf, No Doubt and others will feature in a new Shakespeare-themed classic rock musical, Knights Of The Rose, due to open in London this summer. Other pieces in the production includes work by Bonnie Tyler, Robert Palmer and even Mozart.
The production is described as an “epic tale of love, betrayal and sacrifice,” in which “the noble Knights of the Rose must defend their House and their honour.” Created by Jennifer Marsden and directed by Racky Plews, the musical will be staged at the Arts Theatre, with previews from 19 June to 4 July. Its main run is from 6 July to 26 August.
The casting for Knights Of The Rose has yet to be announced, but the show wil, it’s said, be “woven from a rich tapestry of literature and high-voltage classic rock.” The song list for the musical has been confirmed, and features hits such as Bon Jovi’s ‘Blaze Of Glory,’ Palmer’s ‘Addicted To Love’ and Tyler’s ‘Total Eclipse Of The Heart’ alongside lesser-heard album tracks and numbers by such British acts as Steeleye Span and Uriah Heep.
