Drake leans into the London lifestyle on his latest music video ‘Nonstop’, drinking rooftop tea, performing atop a double-decker bus and giving a surprise performance at the London Wireless Festival.

After DJ Khaled canceled his Sunday night headlining appearance at London’s Wireless Festival on 8 July, Drake kindly stepped in and debuted new tracks off his already-platinum album Scorpion.

Filmed in the style of cinéma vérité, the video starts out with a behind the scenes glimpse of Drake before he takes the stage at the Wireless Festival, looking like an athlete who psychs themselves up before taking the field. It then follows the rapper as he makes his way through the city, holding court at Annabel’s nightclub with French Montana, Migos’ Quavo and his OVO crew, casually sipping tea on a rooftop and rapping atop a double-decker bus much to the shock and surprise of onlookers.

The documentary-style is reminiscent of Drake’s previous video hit ‘God’s Plan’, where he also surprised strangers, except with giant sums of money. ‘Nonstop’ is directed by photographer Theo Skudra, who previously directed the The Game’s ‘100’ music video, which Drake accompanies on. Skuda is also a longtime fixture with the OVO crew, following Drake and others on the road and capturing it all with his camera along the way.

It’s only fitting that ‘Nonstop’ was shot in London, since Drake references the city throughout the song, from “I move through London with the eurostep” to “Palace look like Buckingham”.

‘Nonstop’ follows the previously videos for “I’m Upset”, where he reunited with his Degrassi castmates, to the female star-studded ‘Nice For What’ and the philanthropic ‘God’s Plan’. He’s also has another video in the works for his No. 1 single ‘In My Feelings’. Based on social media, the video is set to be directed by regular collaborator Karena Evans, potentially set in New Orleans, and may feature cameos by NOLA fixture Big Freedia, City Girls’ Yung Miami, and the comedian Shiggy, who started the ‘Kiki’ Dance challenge which contributed to the song’s viral success.

Scorpion is Drake’s eighth consecutive No. 1 album and the rapper will head out on a joint tour with Migos on 10 Aug.
