'Experimental Jet Set, Trash And No Star' captures how far Sonic Youth were willing to push against commercial forces with their noise-rock agenda.
‘Goo’ challenged the idea of what a mainstream rock album could be without sacrificing the experimentalism that earned Sonic Youth a devoted cult following.
The new archival release is a tempo and pitch-corrected version of the ‘Sister’-era 1987 recording.
The album was taped in Lisbon in 1993 and briefly appeared as an unauthorised bootleg in 1995.
Dubbed ‘Sonic Youth: 30 Years of Daydream Nation’, the programme takes place on 20 October in Portland, Oregon, at the Hollywood Theatre.
