Alessia Cara Make It To Christmas

Alessia Cara has officially joined the holiday songs arms race with her infectious new seasonal single, ‘Make It To Christmas’.

The Canadian singer-songwriter is wise beyond her 23 years, writing how most couples are really just trying to make it through the holidays.

“Break my heart on boxing day, but please can we make it to Christmas,” she sings in her smoky alto over a bouncy beat and holiday bells.

It sounds like the perfect single to soundtrack every holiday rom-com for countless seasons to come.

“Darling, I know our love is going cold, but there’s just something about the snow this time of year that makes us lose our way.”

With the release of ‘Make It To Christmas’, Cara joins the illustrious ranks of pop divas who have contributed to the Christmas cannon, from Ariana Grande to Taylor Swift and of course the queen of Christmas, Mariah Carey.

It’s been a whirlwind year for the Canadian pop star. She recently jumped on a reworked version of Bastille’s hit, ‘Another Place’ and will be performing her new single, ‘Rooting For You’ at The E! People’s Choice Awards as well as Spanish-language hit, ‘Querer Mejor’ at The Latin Grammy Awards On 14 November that airs live on Univision.

She also showed off her vocal and comedic chops on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, delivering seven different musical impressions of different singers, from Ariana Grande to Lorde.

Cara released an EP this past September titled This Summer that featured her recent hit, ‘Rooting For You’. The singer is currently on her The Pains of Growing Tour with fellow Canadian, Ryland James, as her supporting act.
