“It is our responsibility to deal with climate change,” Eilish says in the trailer, accompanied by footage of melting polar ice caps. Meanwhile, BLACKPINK’s Rosé urges today’s youth to “come together”, saying that “we must work towards saving the Earth”.

Set to premiere on October 23, Dear Earth will “inspire and motivate audiences to create a better, healthier, existence for the planet through contributions from a wide range of global leaders, creators, celebrities and musicians,” according to YouTube’s global head of original content Susanne Daniels.

The YouTube Original special was first announced at the 2021 Summer TCA press tour on Thursday (September 23), according to Billboard. It is set to match the format of last year’s Dear Class Of 2020, with keynote speeches, musical performances and more.

Also in Billie Eilish news, the star recently added further dates to the Australian and New Zealand leg of her ‘Happier Than Ever’ world tour, due to “overwhelming demand”.

Eilish previously announced dates in Auckland, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth for September 2022, with one show per location. Last week, she added an extra show in each date.

Eilish also previously revealed that she would be teaming up with environmental non-profit organization REVERB to make the tour “climate positive”, which a statement says will “[eliminate] significantly more emissions than the tour creates”.

These shows are just the latest additions to Eilish’s world tour announced earlier in the year, with over 50 dates split between the UK and US throughout the first half of 2022, including six shows at London’s O2 and a headlining set at Glastonbury.
