Following his acclaimed DeTour solo tours of 2015 and 2016, Elvis Costello returns with The Imposters for a series of 10 UK & Ireland Dates this summer.
Joined by backing vocalists Kitten Kuroi and Briana Lee, Elvis Costello and The Imposters (drummer Pete Thomas, keyboardist Steve Nieve and bassist Davey Faragher) will be performing songs from across the spectrum of their back catalogue.
The announcement of the UK and Irish dates comes on the back of the band’s run of dates in the US. They played Brooklyn Steel on 7 March, followed by a three-night stand at New York’s Capitol Theatre.
Costello has attracted widespread acclaim for his song ‘You Shouldn’t Look At Me that Way’, written for the movie Film Stars Don’t Die In Liverpool and released as a single late last year. The film is based upon Peter Turner’s memoir about his relationship with eccentric Academy Award winning actress Gloria Grahame and stars Jamie Bell as Turner and Annette Bening as Grahame.
The film had its world premiere at the Telluride Film Festival on 1 September 2017, and was released in the United Kingdom on 16 November 2017, by Lionsgate, and in the United States on 29 December 2017, by Sony Pictures Classics. At the 71st British Academy Film Awards, the film received three nominations: Best Actress (Bening), Best Actor (Bell) and Best Adapted Screenplay
Elvis Costello is currently working on a new album due for release later this year.
