Five Seconds Of Summer (5SOS) have announced the release of their new album ‘Youngblood’, which is due out on 22 June through Capitol Records. The album will be available for pre-order from 12 April and the artwork can be viewed above.
Hailing from Sydney, Australia, 5SOS – comprising Luke Hemmings (vocals/guitar), Michael Clifford (vocals/guitar), Calum Hood (vocals/bass) and Ashton Irwin (vocals/drums) – have so far won an American Music Award, a People’s Choice Award, an iHeartRadio Music Award, five MTV European Music Awards, two ARIA Awards and an MTV Video Music Award.
Hailed as the “biggest new rock act in the world” by the prestigious Rolling Stone, Five Seconds of Summer (5SOS) are the only band in history to see their first two full-length studio albums enter the Billboard 200 at No. 1. To date, 5SOS have sold over 6 million albums. Their self-titled debut album has sold more than 3.5 million units worldwide, with 1.5 million albums and more than 4.5 million single tracks sold in the US alone. In 2016 the band played 101 sold out arena shows around the world.
2015’s Sounds Good Feels Good charted at No. 1 in 12 countries, including the U.S., the U.K. and Australia, being the first Australian band in history to be simultaneously #1 in those three countries. ‘She’s Kinda Hot,’ the album’s first single, topped the iTunes charts in 44 countries. After a year promoting the record and playing their arena shows in 2016, 5SOS spent the last year living, writing and recording in Los Angeles.
In February 2018, the band released a new single, ‘Want You Back’. 5SOS, who have built a loyal and passionate fanbase playing shows around the world, have decided to take new music directly to its fans on the upcoming 5SOS3 tour, which will kick off in March and run through June. Further details of the band’s forthcoming live shows will be released shortly.
