Country king George Strait will expand his hugely successful Strait to Vegas shows, which have enjoyed three years of sellout performances at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, into 2020. With his current Honky Tonk Time Machine album, his 30th studio title, confirmed as the bestselling country release of the year so far, Strait has added two shows at the venue on 31 January and 1 February 2020.
Tickets go on sale on 23 August at 10am local time via www.StraittoVegas.com. American Express cardholders can buy tickets early, beginning this Friday (16) at 10am until 22 August at 10pm. Additionally, Strait recently announced his return to the American heartland in 2020 with shows at INTRUST Bank Arena on 24 January for Visit Wichita Presents Strait to Oz and in Kansas City for Strait to the Heartland at Sprint Centre on 25 and 26 January.
Last month, the man with no fewer than 33 platinum or multi-platinum-selling albums to his name, and career sales of some 70 million albums, announced a limited edition reissue of his Strait Out of the Box: Part 1 set of 1995. Containing four CDs’ worth of the artist’s music spanning his early success in 1981 through to 1995, the bestselling collection will be available exclusively at Walmart from 13 September and is available for pre-order here. Strait is also represented on the official soundtrack of the eight-part PBS documentary Country Music – A Film By Ken Burns. His major 1983 hit ‘Amarillo By Morning’ will be on the album, released on 13 September.
The Country Music Hall of Fame inductee continues his 2019 schedule with a show on Saturday (17) at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Mass, before Strait to Vegas shows at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on 23 and 24 August. He’s then in his home state of Texas for concerts at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth on 22 and 23 November, with further Strait to Vegas engagements to follow on 6 and 7 December.
